July Meeting Recap
On
July 1st, we had out first meeting in a spacious room in Holy Spirit Church in Millvale, 608 Farragut
St, Pittsburgh, PA 15209! We'll be meeting here for the rest of the year.
Nikki talked enthusiastically about choosing quilting designs. She had a wide range of ideas for all ability levels and provided some design guidelines and tips for troubleshooting the most common free motion quilting problems. We got to see many of her wonderful quilts: The Girl Who Quilts. She also helped members who brought quilt tops in to brainstorm some quilting ideas!
Our dues year started again this month. We’re hoping you all want to stay members, so you can find more information on renewing here. And you can see the schedule of great events we have planned here.
The June Block Printing workshop with Aimee was a successful! And we're looking forward to Amanda's Improv Workshop in the fall.
Don't forget we have a couple of challenges running at the moment with prize drawings in fall! A nametag challenge and a minimalism challenge.
Stacy brought in all the quilts from the traveling Hohl Challenge Exhibit to display and to be voted on. Here are the members who participated in the challenge:
We also got to see some fun Show & Tell:
Next month Zsofia will be talking about Small Piecing and Paper Piecing!
