Quilting In Space

Later today I will be posting a summary of our May meeting (a little belated) with some exciting news.  In the meantime, my inner nerd has an interesting read to share with you - this morning I came across a story about what may be the first quilting in space!

Astronaut Karen Nyberg will be headed to the International Space Station later this month and will be taking fat quarters, a needle, and thread with her.  The NBC News article discusses the limitations of taking such supplies to space and the possibility of some creative re-use of fabric while she is on board the ISS.  Sounds like it might also be the first modern quilting in space!
