August Meeting Announcement

We will be meeting on Sunday, August 6th at the Stephen Foster Community Center, 286 Main St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 from 1:00-4:00 pm (please note that this is a different location than in the past).

The meeting topic will be led by Amanda Hancock and we will be discussing improv with intent piecing. Amanda will focus her discussion on her process for creating blocks using improv piecing to achieve a predetermined goal. We will discuss finding inspiration, formulating a plan for piecing, and different techniques for executing your vision. Improv curves will be demoed as well.
Learn how to use improv piecing techniques for creating stuff like this!

Some other things to know/anticipate for this meeting:
  • We will be kicking off a new challenge and swap all in one this month. To participate, bring with you to the meeting a sandwich bag full of scraps that you would like a fellow guild member to make you a mini from. Check out all the details of the Make Me a Mini challenge on the Guild Challenges and Swaps tab of this blog.
  • We have an exciting update about the bridge quilt. Spoiler alert: it's found a forever home and it's a good one! :)
See you soon!
