August 2017 Meeting Recap

If you missed our August meeting then you missed the big news: Our bridge quilt has been donated to the Heinz History Center! It will be stored in their archives and may be displayed at some point. We'll be sure to let you know any further updates about it.

Guild members exchanged scrap bags for our Make Me a Mini challenge. Each member who participated at the August meeting will be making a mini quilt using their partner's scraps. The mini quilts will be due at our Oct 8th meeting (please not that this is a different date than printed on your instruction form as we had to reschedule the Oct meeting). Use the hashtag #pghmqgmmm to share your progress on Instagram and to keep up with what other members have been working on!

The MQG is accepting submissions for quilts to QuiltCon 2018. Find out more about submitting a quilt here.

Block packets to make the next charity quilt will be available at our next meeting on Sept 10th. Completed blocks will be due by Oct. 14th. We'll be meeting at St. John's that day from 10-5 to assemble the quilt top. Please contact us if you need to mail your blocks.

Amanda taught us about improv with intent. For many of our members this was a new concept. It will be exciting to see what they create. She also did a demo on how to sew improv curves.
